Katie Critchley is a British writer and poet; she received her undergraduate degree in English and History in 2024 and currently teaches English at a secondary school. At 23, she is building a growing body of traditional and visual poetry and prose, and will begin a Masters in Creative Writing this year. Her writing reflects her keen interest in the emotional and narrative structures that shape the human experience. ‘Kate come home more’ is a visual poem, created as a part of her final portfolio during her undergraduate studies. This piece is a culmination of her experience with grief, her mother's battle with Parkinson’s Disease and navigating life as a young woman without the guidance of her mother. The asemic elements of this poem operate as a mouthpiece for the perplexity of the female experience.
