Fishbone

It’s stuck in my throat,

Unable to be removed.

Just a tiny bit,

Yet felt growing from my flesh.

Whenever I swallow,

It chokes me.

By destiny, encountering some sort of person

Is like a thorn in the flesh.

They cannot bear your happiness

Whenever you are pleased

They come out to stand in the way.

It seems your freedom is caught by their hands.

I can only use my mind

To remove this thorn.

From God’s hand I borrow a pond

Irrigate into my throat

To let the fishbone swim away.

Escape

Let a teardrop escape an eye’s trap

Pass through a gate to escape a hasty threat

Run away to escape a destiny’s hunt

Pen a poem to escape the soul’s hijack

Grow strength to escape woman’s weakness

Retain quiet to escape the clamour

Remain silence to escape heartache

Make phone calls to escape to sisters

With a ray of light to escape the darkness

With the future to escape the past and death
