The Medlar Series is a new publishing initiative from Pamenar Press, dedicated to poetry and hybrid writing that moves across languages, forms, and geographies. The series focuses on multilingual, cross-cultural, and experimental work, resisting the pull toward a single linguistic centre. Translation is treated not as a neutral transfer but as a reciprocal and critical space shaped by movement, encounter, and the layered histories of language. Medlar seeks writing that engages with untranslatability, parallel traditions, and poetic exchange as a lived and relational practice. 
 
The first volume in the series is Danish Poetry in Translation: A Bilingual Anthology, edited and introduced by Martin Glaz Serup and translated by Katrine Øgaard Jensen. It includes work by four contemporary Danish poets from different generations and aesthetic lineages: Klaus Høeck, Marianne Larsen, Anne-Louise Bosmans, and Sebastian Nathan. The anthology presents their poems in both Danish and English, allowing the texts to exist across languages without being reduced to a single version. Rather than claiming to represent an entire national poetry scene, the collection lets the poems speak on their own terms and acknowledges that any selection is necessarily partial and provisional. 
 
 
This opening volume embodies the aims of the Medlar Series: to foreground translation as an active and situated writing practice and to publish poets whose work challenges literary borders. Alongside the poets, the contributors to this issue include the series editor Ghazal Mosadeq, cover and book design by Hamed Jaberha (Studio HEH). Future volumes will continue to pair original-language work with inventive approaches to translation, creating a space where traditions meet without erasure and where reading across languages becomes a mode of thinking rather than simple access.
